Welcome to the Epilepsy Society of Australia (ESA) website. The Society is a professional organisation for clinicians, scientists and technologists involved in the diagnosis, treatment and research of epilepsy in Australia. The purposes of the Society are to:

  • Improve the medical care of people affected by epilepsy in Australia

  • Foster a greater scientific understanding of all aspects of epilepsy through support of research

  • Promote the exchange of medical and scientific information related to epilepsy

The ESA forms the Australian Chapter of the International League Against Epilepsy.

August 27, 2008 Congratulations to the recipient of this year’s UCB ESA Clinical Scholarship, Dr Kee Meng Tan.  Dr Tan will spend 2009 working with Terry O’Brien and his team at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, before returning to epileptology practice in Brisbane.
